In his paintings Ishai is both the subject and the object. The works often feature poetic representations of his family and loved ones. Images are collected from the everyday, which are built into artistic situations, like memories often broken and unclear but nonetheless presented as important. He finds this absence of clarity and sense of lingering doubt in the human condition fascinating in its ambiguity.
