Michael was born in 1988, in Cleveland on the North Yorkshire Moors. He studied an MA at the Royal Academy Schools following a BA at Wimbledon College of Art. He is currently working through a one year residency at Sevenoaks School, Kent.
“In the studio I’m concerned and curious about painterly touch, often comparing the activity of making with Hemingway’s ‘Old Man and the Sea’. Where a weathered fisherman perseveres and eagerly clutches at a giant marlin. How he visualises its movement beneath the water, graceful, supple and full of ease, anticipating the moment his elegant catch will surface.”
